With first semester quickly winding down, I’d like to take a few minutes to welcome our new board members. For our Advocacy committee welcome Dr. Jennifer Houston of Mesa Public Schools and Arizona State University. Jennifer brings a wealth of knowledge at all levels and I know she will be a great advocate for our field both locally and nationally. Also joining the leadership team is Lee Schutt as our Partnership Chair. Lee brings and infectious enthusiasm that will lend itself well to creating partnerships will our organizations and others. Cedric Collins also is joining us as our Marketing Chair. He has an abundance of ideas as how to move our organization forward to reach our members where they are. Joining us in a new capacity is Kayla Warren. Kayla was a former Student Representative for our organization when she attended Northern Arizona University. Now she is a full-fledged teacher and join our leadership team as the Membership Chair. Continuing on our Associate Board is Toni Chilton, Public Relations Chair, who has transformed our Social Media presence and grown our followings to an all-time high. Our Best Practices Chair is Morgan Pardy who is hard at work preparing to bring you the latest in best practices for our field. Finally, I would like to congratulate Heather Chewning as she starts her leadership career as your President Elect. Heather will do amazing things for this organization. Our Associate Board has already been hard at work for you. On Saturday, December 9, we held the first of our quarterly meetings. These meetings are the time when we gather to plan our year for you and take care of business. We have many exciting workshops planned for you and we hope you will join us. It is important to gain meaningful professional development and we hope to do that for you. Our next event is Moonlight Golf at TopGolf Gilbert on Sunday, January 14 from 5-8.
