As a service organization, it is the intention of the Arizona Department of Education to provide exemplary customer service and to provide you with all the necessary tools to complete the ESEA Consolidated Grants Application accurately and in a timely fashion. In that spirit, we are seeking, over time, to streamline the application process for LEAs to the extent possible.
The FY24 application process opened on March 1, 2023. Over the past three weeks we have fielded several questions about additions as well as some existing items. The new Impact Goal and Process Goal section, and the existing Fishbone section will need to be completed for funding application approval. In the future, these may only be required by the School Improvement Unit if your school or district is in or in danger of being in improvement status. You can check the website at https://www.azed.gov/titlei for guidance related to these items.
In addition, there has been some uncertainty regarding Funding TagsFunding Tags will be required. However, if you have already submitted your application without these items, you will still receive Substantial Approval and will have the opportunity to make this adjustment as part of the 1st Application Revision.
As a reminder, Consolidated Grant Applications are due by May 1, 2023, and the target date for FY24 Substantial Approval is July 1, 2023Substantial Approval requires a completed application with a reasonable budget proposal and a General Statement of Assurance. *Please note, applications will be reviewed in the order received.
Finally, to all LEAs that provide Equitable Services: there have been revisions to forms, procedures, and monitoring for FY24. Please visit https://www.azed.gov/titlei/privateschools for all updated information or contact Tiffiany Morse at [email protected] for questions or support.
Thank you for your patience as we strive to meet the needs of our educational partners and simplify the process. Please feel free to reach out to your specialist for any clarification or questions you may have.
