OVERVIEW: In the 7th grade sports academy, strength and conditioning are integrated to build foundational fitness. The focus is on age-appropriate exercises such as bodyweight movements, light resistance training, and core stability work. These exercises improve strength, coordination, and help prevent injuries. Students also learn proper form and the importance of regular physical activity for overall health. By incorporating conditioning drills, students remain engaged while developing endurance, flexibility, and a strong fitness base for future activities.

OVERVIEW: This presentation will explore the role of mindfulness in enhancing both physical and mental well-being within the context of Physical Education (PE).

Insights into Coach Schween’s unique approach, incorporating mindfulness into daily greetings and dedicated Wednesday stretch days. - Mindfulness Techniques
A deep dive into practical mindfulness techniques, including body scan, clench and release, finger tracing with breath, and mindful listening, which can be easily implemented in the classroom. - Breathing and Stress Reduction
Discussion on the positive impact of breathing techniques on reducing student stress levels, and how these can be used to improve overall well-being.
This presentation will provide actionable strategies for incorporating mindfulness into PE to promote both physical health and mental clarity.
